Lancelot Sheldrick originally trained as an artist/designer and continues to work in a variety of media.

He has links with the piano restoration business, which would normally involve hand lettering and gilding.

A recent commision was to replicate a painted panel for the top door of a painted piano case, which was missing.  This was created from photographs of a similar instrument.  The original could not be lent and so he had to work solely from photographs.
